what motor to put in my crx ?
the biggest your pockets can provide. duh. I have a stock ls in a light crx and it's real fun to drive. I would say a b20 non-vtec with y1 tranny would be perfect for city driving. lots of low-end with the longest gears of any cable b16 tranny and if your lucky LSD.

Definetly on slicks</TD></TR></TABLE>
Why does everybody say this. Unless you swap the pistons putting a b16 head on a gsr block will lower compression and lower the power potential.
My .02 go with a B16 if you are short on cash and a B18C if you are not.

why does everyone say that? easy, because their is NO ECU to use in an OBD0 car for the GSR manifolds butterflies, plus i dont like not being able to buy a AEBS manifold. Running a GSR motor CORRECTLY requires an OBD1 conversion IMO in an EF.
Wheher a GSR uses a hydro tranny or not is irrelevant. U can run a cable trans on an B series block

Get a 1st gen b16, plenty of fun, fast enough, no obd conversion needed, this setup is tried and true. It will definitely be best for someone who might not know much yet about engine internals becuase you won't need to mess with it. And eventually when you begin to mod it decently it will definitely be capable of 13's.
If you want to go with budget I would get a b18A1 from a 90 91 92 integra my friend has a gutted hf and it flys. Has a lot of torque. That will give you more money for upgrades. Fuel system ignition system and bolt ons, you will be happy and won't break your bannk
