Default What "Frankenstein" B series engine combinations are there?

I've heard of people putting k series rotating assemblies into the h series of motors, and i was wondering if there was anything similar for b? I plan on doing the Frankenstein vtec head swap on a b18b1, and was wondering if i could get some hp gains from stealing bits from other motors on the cheap. Any suggestions?

I don't think thats possible. But you already have a long stroke motor, so if you want power when modifying bottom end you need more displacement and compression.
So sleeve the block for some extra displacement bore like 84 mm and change rods and pistons to get higher compression to get some power when you put your vtec head on.

Pretty much sums it up, unless your planning on bumping compression up a good deal, bottom end parts dont create more power. You're better off spending the money on head work and possibly a good set of cams and then later on if you choose to go turbo, stronger internals. But an all motor LSVTEC generally wont require anyting more than a stock rotating assembly.

Do a B20V swap then.

With minor modifications, I believe the '90-91 Prelude B20/B21 crankshaft will work in the '94-01 B18/B20 blocks. You will have to use a custom "stroker" connecting rod and piston combination, so this will not be a cheap upgrade and you cannot use all stock parts... but you can up the stroke to 95mm.
