Default VTEC Finally

Okay so I figured out why I didn't have VTEC. Since the head was set up for LS/VTEC the oil passage on the bottom of the head was blocked off. All I had to do was run an external oil line like a LS/VTEC and it works. Kind of crazy though, the whole powerband has more torque but at 6,500-7,000 RPM it throws you back in the seat. But another problem arose in the first day of driving it. My friend who built the motor didn't torque the cam gears down and they came loose. We thought maybe it was the valves so we pulled the valve cover off to adjust them and found out what the real problem was. We tightened the cam gears back on and found out the valve clearences were fine. We put it back together and it won't start. Got a code 7 and we replaced the TPS. The plugs were fouled so those were replaced too. This is becoming a NIGHTMARE!! Anyone have any ideas?
