Default stock B18C5 200whp??

so i am considering getting a B18C5 full swap from HMO although i was wondering if it is possible to attain 200whp from those motors with just bolt ons??

And if so what all do i need to make it happen??

no i dont think you can achieve that hp goal with just bolt ons... you would need at least some porting..

porting is something good to invest into if ur looking for more HP's, but the stock R head is capable of hitting the 200HP mark. ive seen unported b16 heads making over 200whp on these 1.8L's.

exactly....everyone gets so hung up on porting but what they don't realise is that unless it's the one thing that's holding your motor back, you won't gain much by doing it. This is why so many other mods are required first before porting becomes worth it.

From the people I know with C5's, they range from lower 170's to upper 180's with bolt ons.

200 whp just depends upon which dyno you go to.

I made 187whp with a stock JDM b18C-R swap with bolt ons. I think that 200whp without some cams are goint to be hard and very expensive to get to on a stock setup.

it would be much harder to achieve the 200hp mark on a B18c1 with bolt on's and cams, due to the b18c1 head not flowing as good as the Stock "R" and a Lower comp. ratio on the B18c1 which would not be all that great with stage2 cams, altho u could make "some" power with stage 2 cams..... stick with the R if u are planning not to do any enternal work.....
