Skunk2 Stage 2 cam gear settings
I just did a search on this and I got mixed opinions. Some people said to leave them at 0 while others said that if u move one you have to move anonther. (example being -2,-2). Can I adjust these cams if so how far?
I am installing these this weekend on my GSR. The head has been milled .020 and im going to be running a stock headgasket. Bottom end will remain completely stock for now as Im saving up for a new one.
Also since the head is milled .020 do I have to set the cam gears to correct that? I read somewhere that you have to adjust the cam gears to accomadate the milled head.
Thanks

Re: Skunk2 Stage 2 cam gear settings (Boost2NA)
ok, i bought my b16 from fullthrottlenyc in jamaica queens like a year and a 1/2 ago. the owner of fullthrottle is an aquaintance of the owner of skunk2.
all the allmotor boys runnin out of fullthrottle have skunk2 cams and they all have stock cam gears. the owner of skunk2 told ken from fullthrottle that he designed the profile to work best at 0,0. while u can tune the cam gears to make more power for ur application it is risky. he recomended to stick with stock.
as far as ur head being milled, i know thatll change ur compression, but i dont know if itll cause clearance issues or change ur timing. i wouldnt think so, but im not sure.

Re: Skunk2 Stage 2 cam gear settings (631 Teggy)
The cams retard 1 degree for every .012" off of the head.
I would advance both cams 1.5 degree's to get close to stock.

Re: Skunk2 Stage 2 cam gear settings (StyleTEG)
I just called skunk and they said you can adjust them but do so in 1 degree adjustments. He also said if you advanve the intake more than 1 u need to retard the exhasut 1 (example being +2 on intake you would have to retard the exhaust one). This came straight from skunk. Also they said I will have to advance my gears roughly one degree for the milled head.
