Simple B20vtec build - 257hp 162tq

Re: Simple B20vtec build - 257hp 162tq
For timing.. its pretty simple.. flat around 30 degrees give or take one or 2 from 4500 up.
I did have to add a touch of fuel w/the new header but not much.
Exhaust pressure is key.. I really wish we had an exhaust pressure sensor in this car. Thats why the cam gear adjustments were needed. Small tubes = alot of pressure and require different amounts of overlap... at least thats what my logic is telling me.

so with bigger tubes, and less pressure, overlap decreases?

we probably wont be doing a whole lot more with this setup. 260 is pretty well maxing whats possible on an 84mm bore.
We are going to work on getting it down the track and possibly building a big motor for next year.

You really don't think there would be SOME more to be had with a bigger cam? Just about every 2.0L build I've seen that went back2back with the Pro2 and Pro3, the Pro3 made more power almost everywhere along the curve.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Nice build, I like the pro 2 cams.
I personally don't see the high rpm killing the sleeves but a couple tanks of mediocre gas at the pump certainly could.

there might be a hp or 2 here or there, but I dont think there is enough power in this bottom end to justify spending the money and time to do a whole lot more testing.
The rpms are going to kill this thing. We see it pushing a little coolant at the end of the 10k rpm pulls, doesnt happen when we stop at 9k. It looks like the top of the sleeves are starting to move around at 10k rpms.

Just wanted to share what a good combination can do
this is a stock sleeve b20 block
8.25cc 84mm wiseco pistons
eagle rods
stock 89mm crank
skunk pro 2 cams
supertech springs and retainers
ferrea cheap valves (not the good ones but the cheaper ones)
CNC port work by BradZ at RLZ
Victor X intake manifold
Omnipower 70mm tb
small tube hytech knock off with 3 inch exhaust
93 pump gas

Very nice, so wondering how you got the 13.5 compression ratio? Just playing with numbers on zeals calculator, b20's have a different compression height piston, not sure what the wisecos come with, I got compression around 12.7 or 14.5 on the calculator, thanks.
