Default reusing pistons?

ive just spun a rod bearing on my b16a and amnow considering using the head for an lsvtec buildup. is it ok to reuse my pr3 pistons from the b16? i know fitment isnt an issue but im new to this and i dont want to throw in used pistons if thats a big no no. if its okay to reuse pistons what should i look for when inspecting them to see if they are still good..so far all i see is the normal carbon buildup on the tops. ill see how they look when i pull them out of the block
thanks in advance

It's never a bad idea to give them a few quick measurements with a micrometer, but used pistons are great. while they're out, it's not a bad idea to balance them either. All you need is a grinder and a postal scale.

????????????

That's a new one on me. I've seen plenty of sets of PR3's reused and never an issue. And based on build alone, if it was a problem with PR3's it would also be a problem with all other OEM B series pistons, but it's not.

It all depends on the machine shop that presses them off the rods.
