I like your "things break **** happens" attitude.
Do you know a good welder? Is there ANY chance the block can be saved?
Stopdrill the cracks, fill in, and blend?

Re: My 2.3 liter B
I can only imagine the forces it takes to literally rip a wristpin out of a piston like that..
Can anyone figure out what kinda forces are present slinging a ~250(?) gram piston up and down at 10,000 rpms?
How about piston speeds?

Re: My 2.3 liter B
Man your title got me to click on this thread. LOL. Ya a 2.3 is very uncommon since it requires parts that arent readily available. I had to read the whole thread just to make sure what youre build really is. I know its been discussed months ago, but yes, rod length will not dictate displacement. Bore and stroke are the main factors.
Also with your piston letting go. With a high rpm build, we usually use tool steel lightweight pins rather than the standard wrist pins. And with short skirts/high RPM like that, we try to use pin buttons instead of clips for the pins.
Good luck on the rebuild.

Thanks guys brad has my head at RLZ. Doing some new stuff to it then starting the new block. Looks like she is going to be another AEBS sleeved block, 86mm bore 15.1 comp 98mm stroke lets see what see will do this time.

Re: My 2.3 liter B
I hit 275 at the wheels with a 95X86 on 13.1 comp on RLZs Dyno pak and went 6.9 in the 1/8 short shifting. I will see 300 on their dyno this time hoping for mid 6s in the 1/8. Plus having the car scaled and lined up had it for six years and never had it done.

Re: My 2.3 liter B
im in for the new build ! sounds wicked.
i too am the same way, ill rev a few hundred rpm after peak power.
these jap motors are sturdy as hell if built right.
stratton.

Great attitude
If the power keeps going up, there is no reason to stop.
I remember my brother asking Brad about how high of an RPM the valve springs could go in our old Build, Brad said : When the power starts falling, let off . LOL
We used to spin our B/Hs that high with big cranks because the power kept going. Same goes for our current F/K motors.

Hey, sorry to bring an older thread back..but I had some questions about your water pump setup.
(pardon my lack of knowledge on Honda motors)
Is that a water pump block off plate essentially that I see in the pics? Meaning that the gear on there is just a place holder?
What kind of Meziere pump is that? And have you ever had any issues with the car getting hot using that pump?
Also, with that motor is the water being 'pulled' through the radiator by the pump or is the pump pumping toward the radiator (if you understand what I am asking)? And is that how it is with a OEM pump?
