Looking for advise on a d16
Hey guys, I know there are a lot of "help me" threads but I'm at a loss on the issue that I'm having. I have a 96 civic ex with a d16 and I'm having a hard time starting it. Once it's running it idles and runs fine. Then as soon as I get on the road, nothing sounds wrong, but the check engine light starts to flash if I hold the gas in one spot for more than a minute. As soon as I let off, or step on it, it goes solid. While running it sounds almost like a boxer engine. I've never ran a single slammer until this one and it has a 3" exhaust with an aem intake and I thought maybe the bigger exhaust was the cause of the sound, but it could be a factor. So far to try to resolve the issue I've replaced plugs, plug wires, dizzy cap and rotor, fuel pump, and fuel filter. When checking the code it comes up as miss fire on 3 and 4.
If you guys have any advise I'd be glad to hear it. I know there was another similar sounding thread that I read and the guy said that his sounded like an impreza but he had a large loss in power, he found that he had a bent valve. But the thing is, I haven't noticed any large loss in power. So like I said any help would be greatly appreciated.

So just checked compression and I found 125, 130, 0, and 125. Looking at the piston threw the spark pug whole the piston looks on, so I'm thinking a stuck or bent valve?

Lots of things could be wrong. No matter what the head is coming off at a minimum. A leak down test will also confirm what's wrong, but either way you aren't fixing without opening it up.
