Default k series chain tensioner issues

hey everyone... hows it goin..
alright so im trying to figure out what you guys are doing for the k20 chain tensioner after you install big cams the tensioner does not want to hold up.. does anyone know what spring rate should i upgrade it to?. i know i can get a skunk tensioner but it would be much cheaper to change out the spring my self.. any help would be well appreciated

Hybrid-racing tensioner. That's your best option.

The OEM tensioner is good, usually the problem is not the tensioner itself. Make sure you don't have a damaged chain guide and watch your oil pressure at idle.

Agreed, the stock tensioner works fine. Sometimes it needs to be replaced after continued use, but it works well.

after cams it does not hold up well..
