h22a4 spun bearing
i have a h22a4 with spun rod bearing on #3. Is it worth fixing or should i just get another engine. if i could find a crank i could use it. cant find any h22a4 cranks except form honda they are 800$
i have a local shop that turns cranks he say .010 could clean it up but we cant find bearings to fit after machining
If any one knows where i can get the thicker bearings at i will have it turned

Re: (h22apwrdcivic)
no its definitly standard size bearings and undersize bearings. maybe thats why the op couldnt find bearings because he was searching for oversized not undersized. anytime u do a regrind on a crank u always use undersized bearings.
u measure the bearings by inside diameter. so if u take metal off of the crank than how does the inside diameter get bigger? it doesnt therefore the term undersized bearing because the inside diameter is smaller.

Re: h22a4 spun bearing (ashb82)
if taking .010 off would clean it up than i would do it and just get the according bearings. .010 isnt that much.
most bearing companys sell undersized bearings. i know for a fact acl sells undersized bearings up to .25. they may not advertise for them but they do sell them just call them up.
