Best Header for H22
i'm still deciding in what header to get? what do you guys think if you had a choice between these two hotshot header or the an-r header?
4-1 Design, 1 3/4" Dia. Equal length primaries.
18" Long x 2 1/2" Dia. Straight Collector - For RACE USE ONLY - Does not bolt to exhaust
Mild Steel Tubing, Ceramic coated.
All Hotshot headers include:
Minimum 3/8" inch CNC flanges
Show quality ceramic coating (almost looks like polished chrome!)
All smog fittings remain intact in stock locations
Designed for easy installation
OR
Specifically Design for Optimal Flow and Power Gains
Equal Length Stepped 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" Primaries
Improves Engine Output in Mid-Upper RPM Range
Increased Ground Clearance
4 into 1 Design Primaries
2.5" Collector
Available in either Street or Merge Collector
Will Not Clear Factory A/C Condenser
Will only fit H-Series (H22) Swap in 92+ Civic and 94+ Accord chassis

Re: Best Header for H22 (J2turbo21)
the DTR header pictured is a h22
http://www.opmmotorsports.com also advertise a 4-1 header, although ive never heard of anyone using it.
there is also of course the smsp, imagineengineering, i like the prospeed(an-r) header the most, but i have still not seen any dyno results.

Re: (f1uxx)
Or you could go with our header:
We made 13 hp and 9 ft-lbs over DC Sports.
There is a lot more information on our website http://www.imagineengineering.com/
Right now we are finishing up a one time only introductory group-buy:

Send me an email at ie@imagineengineering.com if you want to get in it.

Re: Best Header for H22 (Natural Aspirated)
I've built 5 different prototype headers for the H22 over the last year. A 4-1, a sequentially paired 4-2-1 and (3) non sequentially paired 4-2-1s. The header was designed for a H22 in a Prelude. So it clears the P/S, A/C, cross member and should even clear the ATTS units in the Prelude SHs, so swaps shouldn't be a problem. I tried to improve performance with each new prototype and also fitment. Maximizing bend radii was one of my major concerns, since tight radius bends can hinder exhaust exhaust flow. My 5th prototype header (dyno run #8), which is the header the production version will be built from, has the tubing laid out in the more traditionl manner. Therefore the secondaries and collector are under the engine, this reduces the total amount of tubing in front of the engine bay which reduces the total amount of heat being introduced to the engine compartment.
The Engine is a H22A4, not sure of the mileage but it came out of a junk yard car. Prototype #4 (dyno run #3) is being run on Corey Jacobs H2 4th gen Prelude in the East Coast Honda Challenge. Corey was last year's champ in a class of mainly ITRs. He's on his way to another championship this year with 4 wins already, more than any other H2 driver.
Mods
* SMSP #5 Prototype 4-2-1 Header (includes enough 2-1/2" tubing to clear P/S and ATTS units)
* CM light weight flywheel
* B&M FPR
* 2-3/4" x 3" CAI tubing with a K&N Filter
* No P/S
* Underdrive Crank Pulley this has been on for all 5 headers.
Below are the dyno graphs of run #3 (best of #4 prototype) and run #8 (best of #5 prototype) done on the same day and at the same dyno. Header #4 has a collector that's located near the P/S rack and bolts up to the current 2-1/2" race exhaust which includes a 18" resonator then a dump after the driver. Header #5 has additional 2-1/2" tubing with with an offset to clear the ATTS unit. The race exhaust wasn't used for the test since time was short to build a second exhaust.
