Default B18c1 n/a build advice

I have a 2000 gsr b18c1 that is completely oe everything. Going to do a n/a build. 3k is the budget. Would like some advise on parts and starting points to start this build. Also going to be throwing another 2k into later but 3k is what is going to be spent right now. Looking for a least 200hp but as always more the better if the budget allows it. I do not want to turbo I want to stay with n/a. It will be dd every day.

you can reach 200whp or just under for 3k(if done right) the 2k later could be used for port + polish 5 angle VJ and milling the head. what i did was bolt on + skunk2 tuner 2's(head was milled to get right comp). should reach 200 or just under. but before you start what's the comp on you'r engine ? don't start if there's something wrong(low comp in one cyl)

Have you looked through the FAQ? Lots of dyno graphs in there.

Also, read the thread about how to properly set a HP goal.

Def do LOTS of research in the forum..Since you already have a great platform in the 00 B18C1 to start with and tranny... I would def pick up a nice set of cams, cam gears and at an upgraded valvetrain.. A nice header and Vstack to it..although I $3k is a tight budget to reach your goal of 200 HP especially if you don't have any bolt-ons yet?!

Header:400-600
intake-30-200
Inake mani+TB: 350.00
exhaust:250-600
cams:400-600
springs+retainers:350
tune:200+/- 50
he'd be close assuming his comp is above 200 in all 4 cyl(newer motor). he's be there or close enough that the 2k later would push him to his goal or just over with what i had suggested in my OP. of course you could be dumb and run ebay parts to "TRY" and cut costs but the trouble you'll face is not worth it that list is assuming brand name items

yea you're right just right around the budget and his goals..I also agree to get quality parts first avoid junky used items or items in unknown condition..Although I would caution the OP to also factor in items you would not also consider to your budget "maintenance" such as any new oil pumps/water pumps/belts/bushings/mounts filters ets cause it does add up.

Not gonna go anything ebay. Lol. Supertech valves and dual valve springs skunk2 pro series stage 1 or 2 cams. Skunk 2 Im. Hone cyl. New rings. New acl crank and rod bearings. Complete com tech gasket kit top and bottom. Apr rod and head studs. Gates timing belt. Jdmpassword intake. Htech header. Magnaflow converter and muffler with 2.5 piping. Does this sound like a good start to things?

You can't run Skunk pro's on stock GSR comp you'll need around 12 atleast(head milled). I wouldn't try the whole thin HG+Flat valves way. you'll need skunks PRO valves+retainers(500) to run those cams you'll also need to degree them in. everything else sounds good tho.

Says who?

Anyway, the OP needs to do some research, not listen to random people on the internet. Whej you have more specific questions after doing yourself a favor, ask. The questions you are asking have been asked 1000 times on here. Read the faq
