obviously not expecting any crazy numbers, was intending to do just an oem rebuild but then i came up on a really good deal for some Crower 402s on AEM cam Gears and it kinda got outta hand from there. Many months later its all finally startin to come together, i didnt realize what i was gettin myself into expense wise... Initially when id decided to rebuild the engine i didnt know it had a bent rod and God as my witness you wouldve never guessed it, the engine ran great before i tore it down and discovered the bent rod. So i said i need rods now, i went with eagles. at the time my extremely rough understanding of engine building said i needed i higher c/r piston to wake up the 402s so being a dumbass i ordered some cheap cast ebay PR3 pistons and expected them to work on the Eagle rods. Im sure anyone reading this is laughing about that one haha, ya my machine shop pretty much told me you gotta go spend more money and get forged pistons with a floating pin because the oem style PR3s i wanted to use are an interference fit wrist pin. Anyway, settled for SRP part number 149222, 10.7:1 c/r and .020 overbore. Hoping to get the block to the machine shop here in the next week or so but ive been working on tight funds and dont wanna halfass anything so thats why this build is like 8 months in the making right now. I never wouldve guessed it was this expensive when i started

There is no need for you to have such nice aftermarket rods for such a mild build. It would not hurt but they are over kill and costly. I would of just bought one replacement rod from the dealership or maybe buy a set of used ones. Press in new arp rod bolts, shootpen and cycrofreezed. Shootpen and cycrofreeze strengths the rods itself. Good luck with your build and post up a dyno sheet once you are done.

thanks, and yes youre 100 percent right about being overkill and costly, but i just looked at them as insurance if/when i do another cam upgrade and some port work. and even then with the im probably still being too careful. i never thought about shotpeening and cryofreezing stock rods, im sure it woulda saved some money... will post up my dyno sheet once its all together which hopefully should not be too much longer.
