after 3 yrs of boost, i wanna go NA
what i have on my signature is what ive had for the last 3 yrs with no problem. But its getting old. Id like to try this set up and klet me know what u guys think.
same LS block
11:1 or even 12:1 forged pistons
forged rods
FMU for fuel
prelude injectors
ice box intake or even just a ebay intake system
4-1 header
2.5 inch exhaust
and call it a day?
im not doing a lsvtec or gsr swap. i alrready have the ls motor, i just want to swap out the turbo parts with NA parts. anyone here with a 11:1 or 12:1 pistons on a LS? how is it?

From what I have seen, a built NA LS motor will get you around 140/50 WHP or so. Not worth it IMO. If you really want a NA motor that will impress you, I would go B20/VTEC or at least LS/VTEC. I mean you can always do this later, but your compression will be affected as well.
And why the FMU? Get a chipped P28, wideband and Crome.

id figure FMU because ive been using it with no problem. but anyway high compression pistons in LS isnt worth it? i dunno what i make now as far as HP with boost but i just want about the same power without the lag (even though its only a tdo5h).

your going to be very disapointed with the power out of stock cams. if you get to 11:1 and add some crower 404's youll get to 160-170 hp though no problem. the same bottom end and then adding a vtec head with something along the lines of skunk stage 2's will get ya near 200 hp though..

For tuning with only an FMU, yes.
Also, what octane gas do you have available?
Find a Crome tuner in your area. You'll be happy you did.

one last question...crower stage two street na cams require valve springs? i wanty to do it right but with only 200 hp or less do i really need it? the car never sees 6k rpm anyway...i drive like a ***** until i need to pass someone or occasional adrenaline rush.

if you dont want to rev the motor, keep your turbo.. your gonna have to push the motor to 8k to make good power NA and anything stage2 or up you need new valvesprings

Uhh what is the FMU going to do on an NA car?
The FMU works by raising fuel pressure X psi for every 1 psi of BOOST. You will never see boost in an NA car so the FMU will do nothing...
Going from a build turbo LS to an NA non-vtec LS is just plain stupid IMO. It would be like putting an H22 into a Corvette.

i was wondering the same thing, but i think he's building his motor with the turbo on it? like he wants the motor to make more power than it is, so he wants to know what to do to make more power??
i dunno, im way confused by this thread.

after 3 yrs of boost, i wanna go NA
answer-no you dont.
I cant believe you spent all that money on the motor and turbo parts and only used an FMU...Ditch your current fuel setup(fmu, injectors, missing link)..get a chipped p28 and conversion harness and some 440 injectors and go get that **** dyno tuned..You will be wayy happier. trust me

hehe i knew this was coming up. the reason why i wanna go NA is because i wanted a reliable civic. i could use the money to do the FI right but than there's too many maintenance to keep up with. im 26 and kinda wanting to get out while still staying in....if that makes any sense...lol

Haha i guess so...but if you really wanna go all motor...you need to do lots and lots of research in this forum. It is very helpful with answering your allmotor questions. And if you can find the answers, click search and search the archives in the allmotor section. Your still gonna want to get a chipped ecu and get it tuned.

you will regret going back to N/A....i guarantee it.
especially a N/A non-vtec setup vs. boost.
what you need to do is ditch the FMU and get a real engine management+tuning. you will love your turbo setup even more. it will defiantly make more power and be a **** load more reliable.

Just because it's all motor doesn't mean it won't break.

No ****...both are going to require maintenance.
I'm an all motor guy but if you already have that turbo ****, stick with it. I'm guessing you have AT LEAST 40 whp to be gained just by tuning..

your not going to be happy going from a boosted car to a na non vtec motor. a built 2.0 bseris vtec motor making 200+ will be much slower then your boosted motor. and your talking about a non vtec na b seris. forget about it that things going to be doggg slow
