1998 Honda Accord will not start
Battery Short Now Will Not Start
using a ratchet to tighten distributor screw, ratchet accidently hit positive battery post. When tried to start car everything appeared fine until key turn engaged starter. All power stopped and no power exists (no lights, no accessory, etc.) If I pull the negative battery cable let it sit then replace negative cable I get all lights acts like all is fine then when key turn engages starter everything stops.
The battery tested fine under load and the starter was pulled and tested fine.

Make sure your battery terminals are tight and not able to move by hand. Make sure the nut on the starter is tight but not too tight. Check the 100 amp battery fuse in the underhood fuse/relay box. Make sure all your grounds are clean and tight, especially your transmission ground wire. If all else fails try jumping straight power to the starter solenoid terminal, use a long thick gauge wire if possible and touch the solenoid terminal to the positive battery post. The starter should spin, if it doesn't you have a bad starter or a poor ground connection, if it does spin then you have a circuit problem somewhere between the battery and starter.

did it just start doing that out of the blue? or did u do a swap or change something in the engine bay? maybe ur engine seized? it kills all the power just to try to turn the engine over...

The battery shorted when my wrench hit the positive post that is when it quit starting, started fine before that. Yes, it kills all power as soon as I try to turn the engine over. Power comes back after I pull the negative off of the battery and let it sit a minute. Reconnect the battery and I have power but when I try to start it kills everything again.
