Default Some Basic TSX Questions

Is there a FAQ thread on the TSX? I want some info since i just recently bought one but i cant find any related topics.

I basically want to know how is the performance market for this car. How much power can a stock block handle. Is the TSX head the same as the Type R? Cams? How much can the Auto(Shiftronic) tranny handle?

etc...

I still havent decided what way i want to go in the future with this car in terms of performance.. Turbo/ SC/ All Motor

JDM TypeR/USDM TypeS cams are interchangable... but the heads are totally different....

the Type S is mad to Rev high, like 9000RPM high... the TSX should not go past 8000RPM

but the head are interchangable

Now, the TypeS/R head has larger intake ports to allow for more volume of air at those high RPMS..., meanwhile the TSX has small intake ports compared to the RSX-S

P.S. there is a market for the TSX

So is it worth to do a Type R head swap or just to get the Type R cams?

Will Compression ratio change by changing to a Type R head?

you can change the compression ratio by installing a thinner head gasket. but if you are going to do all that work, you might as buy the TypeS head and throw it on...

comperssion ratio can only change by pistons and head gasket.... the head can lower the compression if its really sh*tty like cracked head or burnt valves.

if you want more power, do go through all that... do this:
-Hondata ECU relflash
-Injen MR Intake (stablizes AFR)
-headerback exhaust system
(this setup well give you atleast 200WHP according to hondata)
PLUS
add a thinner headgasket for higher compression, and port and polish the stock TSX head for better air flow, should be adding atleast 5+HP on top of 200

Thanks for the reply.

Ive been searching and it seems like Supercherges is the way to go for these cars..Atleast for now.

Would adding the Thermal Intake Mani Gasket help as well?(Honata or Hondata style)

I already have an INJEN Cai which came installed with the car when i bought it.

honestly, throw a small turbokit boosting between 6-10 pounds. wont have to mess with internals.
