Default DIY: COLD air intake.. similar to the COMPTECH one.

you need to start off with a K&N drop in, but if you've seen your thought about buying the comptech icebox, they give you a crappy foam filter, and a few of people on the Acura boards have been changing them out and putting in a K&N..

so whats so great about the COMPTECH kit? you get a new air box lid, a junk foam filter, and a 90 degree inlet tube.

so.. my plan was to just remove the resonator, and avoid all that bullshit.. but then i realized before the resonator, it had a "U" pipe, and it was the same size at the rubber boot hose going to the airbox.

so i cut it in half with a hacksaw.. and its basically the same thing as the COMPTECH one..

SO WHY NOT SAVE YOUR 150 BUCKS..

also.. i dremel'ed off the back of the grille insert to allow air flow 100% non-restrictive. ALSO, SO YOU CAN SEE MY AWSOME CIA INTAKE TUBE!

Hmm I would also be worried about hydrolocking But I do know this saves money but would you reccomend doing this over buying the Comptech Icebox or my fav the Injen CAI. I live in New Orleans and Im sure you guys know what flooding can do here eg: Katrina. How far down to the bumper do these CAI's go and would you reccomend the Air bypass? Thanks appreciate any help.

I believe its CAI, lol. Also, if you're so worried about hydrolock then just hacksaw another portion out and put in a AEM bypass (or by the airbox or wherever).

Use exisitng parts and pieces from OEM intake

I have the Comptech lid and the above set-up
