Hi, I Have a 2004 Acura TSX with a p0977 code "shift solenoid b circuit high" . The vehicle drives fine 1 out of 3 driving cycles. It gives this code randomly. The mil light shuts off at times also. Sometimes I start the car up and the mil turns on and the D light starts blinking without even shifting it to drive. I checked the connector that plugs at the tranny for the internal solenoids, and its fine. Also the pcm connectors are ok. Can it be a defective PCM sending the incorrect signal to the transmission?

 

Is the transmission fluid level correct? Could just be a bad solenoid.

 

yes, the tranmission fluid looks ok, and its up to level. If solenoid B is bad, I will have to open the transmission to replace it, but again, it only does it at times. I was driving to work today, and I got a p0980 "solenoid c circuit high". I had to shut the car off and start it back up so it would shift. I didnt get a p0977 code today though.

 

you might need to update the pcm software. I work at a acura dealership, I don't recall ever seeing those codes. I looked them up and the first step for diag is to check for pcm update

 

Did you ever find a solution? I have an o4 tsx with p0977 code. Drives fine, 220k so I rebuilt the trans, checked wires, and solenoids. Everything looks fine except it intermittently will throw code p0977 with a vsa and traction control light. Then when cleared it goes away until it randomly shows again.
