Default test drove 05 rsx s today disapointed

ok today i checked out at the dealer and spot an 05 black rsx-s with 37k miles on it bone stock. took it for a spin and was really disapointed. it felt alot slower than my oldschool 94 dc2. i took it on the freeway and hit vtec bunch of times. all i hear was the 2nd tone of vtec, and no power. would a intake and header and kpro really make up for al lthis disapointment:?

trust me your dc2 is much slower then this. The crossover is smooth that is why you felt no power. When you get mods like an intake it will make a huge difference. K series responds much better to mods then B series do.

ohh i dont knwo ve been on some test drives and opened some new cars up.. if i spend 30 grand for a new car i wana see what its gona do.. and if the sales person says no.. ide tell him welp dont bother tryin to sell it to me..

and i own a 96dc2 02dc5 and a 05dc5 the dc2 cant even stay with the dc5.. and the 05 is just a lil bit better than the 02.. its the spicer cams that make it that way.. my 02 is heavly modded so i cant give you a comparison between my cars. my 05 is a stock daily driver as well as the 96.

Don't be dissapointed because like very one else said once the mods start so does the fun! I only have a few mods that were on the car when I bought it and it will own a stock DC5 or any STOCK b series car (Never raced a DC2-R so I leave them out of this )!

Dude i love your sig lilbinky it SUCKS!!!! lol

espnews:
You seriously can't compare a stock dc5 to anything modded and i'm pretty sure your dc2 is modded. Put mods on the dc5 and it will open up a whole new world. K-series respond a WHOLE lot more differently then any other series. there is a, i believe, a 10 HP difference from the k20a2 -> k20z1 but that is going off of the Old SAE rating for both vehicles.

Of course your not going to have the ever loving vtec "kick" because it is still stock and the stock airbox is very restrictive. It's going to have that smooth transition because it came from factory tuned that way STOCK. Personally i love the vtec smooth transition over the vtec "kick" any day of the week, shows that it's transitioning the power correctly (i'm talking modded wise).

It could have been beat to hell of a DC5..? Might have had a ricer i-vtec the hell out of it for the first 30k parted it out then took it back for another car to beat on.

Oh and I've taken plenty of cars with an employee to redline. Though most of these guys were younger guys, most of them let me drive it the way I wanted. I suppose its just the way that you approach the seller.

i test drove 2s before buying one and the first one i was 16 redlined the the **** out of it and the second one when i was 17 and which i own now i just drove it like a normal person not redlining it and ****. and believe me TS the dc5 is alot faster than the dc2 is i have a dc4 my buddy has a dc2 and it is nothing compared to my dc5. just cuz the vtec is alot smoother doesnt mean its slower.

This thread makes my head hurt and is going nowhere fast.

Point is, if you like the car, then get it. If you're only about speed, then you shouldn't be looking at any Honda makes anyways.

Good luck.
