Questions about Turbos for the RSX
Hey, how you doin guys? yeah, i just wanted to know something about turbos for the RSX.. I have a type-s and from what i hear, in order to get a turbo installed, i'd have to lower my compression and thus making it basically a Base model RSX. So wouldn't it kinda be pointless for me to have a type-s Turbo charged? isn't it kinda stupid of me to buy new pistons and then buy a turbo? cuz isn't it basically you're spending an extra 2-3000 dollars for the type-s and then spending even more money only to make it into a base model then turbo charge it? and wouldn't that slow my car down without the turbo? im not quite sure so would someone help me out with this question?

Lowering your compression to anything near the base model's doesn't mean you just have a base model engine in there, there are alot of differences between the A3 and A2 heads, and you are still benefiting from those(along with a higher redline and 6spd transmission), the turbo is shoving in compressed air anyways.

what about us little guys with a base model 5 speed?? Is it even worth it to get the greddy kit or just go with other ways of boosting horsepower? how much does your average turbo kit go for to get it installed as well?

dude, you're totally forgetting that on the base the VTEC isn't on both the intake and exhaust. Only the intake I believe. Also the type-s has larger headers, cam, pipe, exhaust. Also remember that type s has the strut tower bar front, sway bars, and the sweeter gear ratios. There's a huge difference my friend.
