I'm coming close to closing a deal on an 03 Silver RSX with 37k miles on it. 5spd of course. I'm just trying to buy something pratical that I won't have to worry about getting jacked and to keep me away from modding the **** out of it. I just plan some susp, wheels and a lip. Just wondering if the non type S are any good?

I have the 02 base model of the rsx (5 speed manual), and honestly speaking I should have never settled for the base, the car is nice inside and out. However it does look clean and agrressive (screw the ppl who say its a girl car!), I even think its a waste of time to mod the car, you wont get the normal gains hp you would get in a type s. Im saving up to do a k20a2 swap into next year.
If your looking for a nice commuter car then you could always get a cheap civic but if you want looks then the rsx can be flashy if you have the $$. IMO if you have the $$, I'd say get the type S. YOu wont be sorry (from after test driving my friends car =], i was so jealous)
haha
so base = boo
! (even though i have it haha, its a real chick magnet)
type s =

I bought the 03 Base model. I could not find any S's in my area for the price I got the base for. I paid $14k for mine....silver 5spd...with 37k miles...its absoulutely perfect. Car still retails for $18,200 and trade in is $15,300. So I think I did alright with the car. I'm not looking to make it fast, I have school loans coming up soon...just wanted a newer/nice car to make look good (susp, wheels, lip) and just drive. Thanks for your help!

It's still a good car even if it's not the Type-S. Look at it this way -- if it weren't for the S, the base model wouldn't get such a bad rap.
You see what EP owners have been doing; pretty much the same stuff is possible with the base RSX.
