Here's a writeup from a swap on an EP. I bet the shifter will need to be modified similarly. The cables should work fine. I did the swap in my EP also, and it is pretty straight forward. The RSX shares the same platform, and the transmission case is the same for the 5 speed and the 6 speed.

ok.. but the main question then is this... inside an RSX to RSX .. 5 speed to 6 speed, if the tranny is the same, then you must only modify the shifter to go further to the right then ?since the tranny is at the same spot, so is the shifter so the cables must be the same sizes henze only the shifter would be different correcT ?

It should be just a simple shifter modification. The other thing to remember is that the 6 speed has a lockout solenoid for reverse that is only controlled through the RSX-S ECU. You will be able to put it in reverse (serious grind) if you overshoot 6th. I am working on a control box to eliminate this problem.
