Hello everyone, I was wondering if someone can help me with my issue, few days ago my a/c compressor stops working, looking in my fuse box fuse 1 was melted, I clean that check voltage and put a new fuse. However, the a/c compressor still not working I do all the test if bring voltage to the compressor relay and they engage and works perfectly. When I press the ac bottom, both fans came in, and the blower also works, I test the pressure valve and bypassing it, now, I know that the issue came with the positive that need to activate the relay to activate, I was following this wiring diagram.
Also, Idk if bypassing the relay we can test that the thermal protector is good or bad.
The thermal circuit is a COMMON problem on "K" series applications... have you tried running cold water from a hose over the compressor while the engine is running and the A/C system is "On" to see if the compressor locks up ?
I wonder if there is a way to bypass the thermal switch... maybe cut the energizing wire from the thermal switch and connect the blue/red wire to it for clutch lock up... if the compressor engages, then you know the thermal switch is the issue. If there is still no clutch lock-up, the compressor is trash.
That's weird because the red cable from the ECU E18 is the in charged to energize the relay to give the pass of that voltage, only when I do manually the A/C clutch engaged and works well, so in that case we can discard that the thermal switch is god, or not?
