Hi,
i'm new to honda-tech and i dyno tuned my type R last week at 167.1 i have CAI, dc JDM headers, 5-zigen exhaust, toda A's, skunk2 gears, and V-AFC. Does 167hp sound right? I'm really dissapointed it seems so low. before the V-afc, cams and gears i was running 14.4 at 97? does this sound right? should i play with the gears and put it to 1degree advnace on the intake and 2 degree on the exhaust or what please help i wan't more HP!!! thanks

I made 168 stock. Maybe you need more/better tuning. If I were you I would find someone who knows what they are doing and have them tune your car on a dyno.

thats the thing though i did dyno tune it..and thats all the power it made..it was dyno'd at Import Specialties in washington...they are pretty well known for having knowledge... He said that the gears are pretty much set to stock setting would that be the reason?

Did they hook up you to the Wideband o2 sensor? Did they use your adjustable FPR? Your car should be way stronger than that....

that's definately a tuning issue. some people just don't know how to tune.
this is especially true with toda/jun/spoon cams. you need to find the proper tuner, because tuning these cams the way you would tune a skunk2, crower, or JG cams, is vastly different from cam to cam.
take it to another tuner, and make a couple of dyno runs on it. you'll probably make more hp with a few more dyno runs.

What was the room temperature? i know in my ITR i dynoe'd on a DynoJet at 177.5 whp without the VAFC and cam gears. I went to a different dyno (a Clayton) and peaked out after tuning 167 (and the guy can tune Honda's BTW). I know in the room it was 95 degrees. So hot which made the numbers lower. I am saying that many factors can contribute to how well a car performs on a dyno.

What was your tire pressures? Using higher tire pressures will give you a higher reading and vice versa
