I remember seeing the 22whp gain from the HyTech header+exhaust...

Would you contribute the gain mainly to the header? Or is the cat-back that good of a design?
You don't look at it that way.

It's not one piece that does it, it's how the whole system works together. I just hope my Spoom does a good job, or I'll be ordering a Hytech to replace it,,, Not that John will mind I'm sure.

Well, I have been eyeing the new T1R power header, and I have yet to finalize which catback to purchase. I guess what I am asking, if you have a good header, would the HyTech exhaust compliment it as well, or would I only see those #'s with a HyTech header + exhaust?

Well, then someone with his catback and a different header would have to answer. I certainly will as soon as everything is installed and I dyno again. I wouldn't expect John to commit to claims as high as 10 to 20 WHP HP/TQ with Just the catback. I/We have seen some pretty impressive results with his complete Header/Cat/Catback system but, as soon as you remove one of the components that was designed as a piece to the proverbial puzzle, then things change and the results will certainly vary.

As well Tuning is a necessity to maximize the gains with his or any I/H & E setup.

I certainly hope that my header and cat combined with his catback and tuning will provide at least 10 WHP and a few PF of TQ... But, I will Not expect 20 to 22 WHP without his complete setup...

I would be pleasantly surprised though if that much was gained.

I will be purchasing based upon reputation, results and quality of workmanship... This is exactly how I decided to purchase my Spoon header, hopefully a very well designed catback will compliment the setup and result in some nice gains... Or as I already said, I may just purchase his header for the full effect.

Does anybody know if Hytech will sell just the cat, and if so, for how much?

.....I've got a hytech header. I think that's more important than an exhaust, cause I just run open header at the strip or track...

Another question that no one has asked yet.

How much does the header, cat, catback, muffler, all weigh?

I'm pretty sure that it was initially for the 2000 - 2001 3rd Generation Eclipse GT V-6...isn't that the same motor as the stratus?

B2 - not sure how much it weighs, but it's not all that heavy.

you were on the right track, though. obviously it's a v6, but you forgot the zx is a longitudonal engine whereas eclipse is front drive and transverse.

sorry for going off topic. but hey, the header was a hytech.
