When changing the oil.......
Do you guys find your old oil to be very dirty(almost black)? I change my oil about every 3500 miles with mobil 1 synthetic 5W-30 and every time i drain the old oil it looks like a really dirty black color. I think i remember someone on here saying when they changed their oil it came out the same clean golden color as when they put it in.

Mine ALWAYS comes out pretty black probably because I hit VTEC so much. I doubt that anyone could have gotten almost the same color when they changed their oil.

Synthetic oil has great detergent properties than traditional motor oil - it will tend to pick up more impurities. What kind of filters are you using? What kind of driving are you doing? City/Hwy?

Mine seemed to come out cleaner when the stock filter was on, the oiled filters let some more particulate matter through probably, but nothing the oil can't handle.

00ps, forgot to label the "drain plug" in the first pic. For those that don't know, the yellow thing to the right of the oil filter is the oil drain plug
