VTEC Problem!
I have a 2000 ITR. I have a problem with my motor with the Vtec not working. I have already searched but still couldn't figure out the problem. I have checked my oil and the oil level is fine. I have also checked the Vtec solenoid by giving it 12v and it clicked, so I assume that it's fine right? Then I tried to wired a light to the wire connecting to the solenoid from the ecu to see if the ecu is giving a signal. The light lights up, so I assume that the ecu it working fine, too. The check engine light NEVER came on so I'm guessing that the oil pressure unit is also fine. Also, I checked the oil screen and it's fine as well. And the car was at normal operating temp of course. Therefore, I have no clue of what could be the problem. PLEASE HELP.
Has anyone of you have had a similar problem? Hope you guys can help me out.
Thanks.

forgot to say that I've checked it already and it's fine.

I think I'm having the same problem. I was in Korea for 3 months and so my father was driving it around for a while. I came back last week and took her out for a spin and it didn't seem like vtec was kicking in. A few weeks before I got back, my dad took the car for the 30,000 miles maintenance... I have no idea what is wrong with the car.

Ya don't have to remove the battery, just disconnect it for a min of 5 mins.
Are your plugs and wires ok along with the distributer cap & rotor?
Don't forget if your air filter is clogged or wet it will prevent the common sounds of vtack...
