Thunderhill... June 20.. HPDE event!
Anyone going or signed up already? It's being hosted by http://www.unlimitedlaps.com and it's on a friday. I already signed up and just wondering if some of the Bay Area guys are going as well. Can't wait to try the new car out.

Hehe you take him on. j/k drive safe.
Although it's completely driver skill, if you two are in the same group, I am curious to see how they will perform against each other. (Although already evident at the expo...)
Were any ITR's able to hang with the evo? Anywhere on the track?

I wasn't at the Expo so I can't comment on that...but given the $6k difference in sticker price and equal drivers, the EVO VIII should turn faster lap times than the R. The only disadvantage of the EVO VIII that I can see is the weight, and the fact that the turblow may not like 30 mins of driving in 95-100 degree temperatures.
That being said, it will all come down to experience, especially at a track like Thunderhill.

Hehehe.. alright! 2 so far. LoL
This is my 2nd time going to thunderhill. I hope I still remember the lines.. I need to refresh my memory.. otherwise, I'll just grab me another instructor. Maybe Bob can give me a quickie lap.
By the way.. did I mention the my old turbo teg held up on that weather temp?

AAHHHH!! It's on Friday??? . I need to work!! Damn the mortgage.
I would love to go and meet new people and check out the EVO, but I can't go anyway. I need to change my front rotors. They are ok for normal driving/breaking, but after a few lap, they heat up and shake a bit.
Have FUN!!!

Re: Thunderhill... June 20.. HPDE event! (NewR)
I'm planning on going. I'm trying to get a couple of my buddies to go as well and am looking forward to my first track day. There's a forum on the unlimited laps site about this event going in a CW direction as opposed to the typical CCW direction.

I've signed up for the event and am looking forward to meeting you guys at the track. Keep in mind, though, that UnlimitedLaps is running Thunderhill CLOCKWISE.
I think the normal configuration has traffic going CCW. Just a thought. Anyway, I'll be in a 97 R. Hope it's under 100F that day.
