alright so i have a new problem with the car.

i go to start it and it shuts right off. i proceed to give it a little gas and then try and start it and it will start but it sputters like 1 or 2 cylanders is misfiring and after about 5 or 10 seconds it smooths out and runs fine.

im thinking ecu or distrubitor.

anyone else experience this?

 

I've had similar symptoms when the ignitor in my distributor was going out. Does it do this when the car is cold, or after it had been running and shut off?

 

only when cold. once its warms up no problems i can shut it on and off with no problems. i can even let it sit for like 30min to and hour and no problems.

it only does it if its been sitting for awhile

Ohm out your ignitor and coil in your distributor. Are you using any non OEM Honda parts in your ingition system?

 

oem honda everything except for msd wires.

what i noticed is...... it only does it at night once the sun goes down.
but if the suns up i dont have any problems.

You could have a small crack in your ignitor or coil. When its cold the crack is bigger and causes the problem, when it is hot the material would expand, close the crack and you would not have the problem.

Can you use a buddys dizzy for a few days and see if you no long have the problem?

 

Yeah use a substitute dizzy

 

yea ill just try the dizzy off my eg6 gotta make a obd2 to obd1 harness though
