spring install problem

The front right bolt goes in almost twice as deep as the front left. Does that mean my shock is blown or we installed it wrong? When I push down on the vehicle, the front right side makes squeeking noises from the spring. The ride height is the same on both sides and the shock did not look like it was leaking fluid when we pulled it out. Help anyone?

Are both of the springs seated properly on the seat?
Sometimes it moves when you put the cap back on so you need to twist it back into place.

You could have installed the "special washer" (aka bumpstop splate) upside down.
Item 14
It is tapered on the inside and if you set it on the shock upside down it will sit about 1/4" higher.

looks like my shock wasnt blown, the washer was upside down. 3 out of 4 isnt bad...my friend did the initial install O_O i hope it doesnt prematurely wear out that shock now.
doesn't matter if your shock is blown or not, that will NOT effect the distance between the taper in the shock and the top of the threads. Only thing that will change that is lack of/extra washer, worn bushings, etc
