Default Spring Compressor

I need a spring compressor but want to find a inexpensive, but safe unit or tool to purchase and use. What do you guys recommend? and where is a good place to purchase it? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

If you don't need to do this often, don't even bother with one. Seriously. Most of the cheapy spring compressors are just that. Cheap. Springs can be dangerous. I don't know how loaded the stock springs are. I (along with the help of Crack Monkey) took the entire assembly off, and took it to a friend at a shop who had a real wall mounted spring compressor.

Just a thought.

How often are you actually gonna be using it. I just go to Pep Boys, put a deposit on one, then they refund it to you when you bring it back. Free and easy.

If you undo the spring while it's still mounted to the lower ctl arm, the chances of injury in case of a slip up are greatly reduced...

Still.. they can be dangerous... The JC Whitney tool works just fine..

That's what I did with my CRX a couple fo years ago... you put down a deposit on the tool and they refund the entire thing back to you when yoo bring it back in Free has certainly always been within my price range

a friend and i changed the springs on his car and we just rented one. it was like 40 bucks for 5 days, but you get it all back.

and yes it is very dangerous. while we were doing the spirngs the one compressor we had broke on us. a part shot right past my buddies head. the compressor it self looked old and shitty to begin with, but we were almost done when it broke. he then went the next day and rented another from a differetn place. we also didn't pay for the one we broke.

so if you rent one look over it for stress marks and all first
