Nope, I just throw up peace and give a nod to fellow auto enthusiasts. If you belong to other forums you would understand the different kind of comerodity I speak of.

I like how it looks, prefer to see it on a CW97 rear bumper though. Someone had already stated that the benefit of this piece is very minimal and also, I think it just adds weight.

I'm sure they will still steal your car but probably leave that huge thing inside your car

I know its not a DC2 but when I saw the pic I started thinking

1.) The car is not that low
2.) It probably does not have a nice flat bottom piece like the Enzo
3.) It is shooting the air and water away from the car the way it should work

Based on the photograph to me the diffuser is doing its job.
Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't the S2000 Spoon Diffuser do the same work and samething in the photograph. I think that it would. Even if the S2k diffuser is on a EK or DC im sure it would do what it was ment to do and that is to keep the air and wind from coming up on the cars bumper.
The point of the diffuser is to keep the flow of air flowing away from the car, right.

Discuss

And Keep the stupid talk out!!! from here on out.

Good stuff.

To those commenting on the looks. Consider yourselves a bunch of ricers. You have completely missed the point if you think this is about looks. Whether it is functional or not is another story.

Front and side shot make it look a little less hideous. Still rather bulky. Definitely unique...

LOL, I think as long as everyone hates it, I'm on the right track. Considering what the entire nation thinks about the civic and integra community, the more I can steer away from that the better I think.

I personally dont like the way the diffuser looks, BUT if it works I'd throw one on my car. The rest of the car looks great!

This would be more functional than the Spoon piece. If only it were available for other cars. hrmm..

As for the DC2 attachment, it looks alright from the side, but i have to agree the rear view looks rather awkward.

Umm, so your point it?

You just managed to contradict yourself. It seems your going for the form v function notion. It is ugly, and it is not functional, thus, it doesn't belong on the car. Unless of course it is to show off wealth in hopes of attracting 16 year old boys driving Civics...

Yea what IS the point tho? cuz it seems like you dont know either...your statement of "whether it is functional or not" implies that you, yourself, knows not the function of it.

Especially when this piece is NOT even made for our cars...the fact that something was just slapped on to the DC chassis, that not only looks bad, but carries more weight, is a very unjustifiable mod in my books.

I believe functionality is the actual debate. IMO many civic and integra groups do not put much stock into aero. I also believe many civic and integra groups are very opinionated when it comes to functionality. The funny thing is the most opinionated are the ones who never even been to a road track, let along drive one. In a circuit a diffuser would never be used because most regulations don't allow it, depending on the class. However in Time Attack anything goes in way of aero. I've been to various tracks, Infineon, Thunder Hill, Willow Springs (Big track), Button Willow etc. and I've gone into turns at 120+ mph. With the winds and high speed splitters, diffusers, wings make a difference.

Looks good, looks bad whatever. Majority opinion that's fine. You've mentioned weight twice now. Yes you want to keep the car light, but on any track (Drag or Road Course) 8lbs of weight isn't going to make a noticeable difference no matter how consistent your driving is. Also because its not made specifically for DC2 means nothing. How many home made splitters or diffusers are made out there for various cars? A lot. As long as it splits air between car and the diffuser, than its doing its job.

I mean look at this guy's diffuser entitled UNIVERSAL DIFFUSER https://honda-tech.com/forums/road-racing-autocross-time-attack-19/dry-carbon-fiber-rear-diffuser-2285480/. Different style, probably works in someway or another.

I didn't say it was non-functional or ugly. I just made a suggestion to a different diffuser that would be MORE functional than the Spoon piece. The fact that you are contradicting what you've said, and maybe you're the one who does not understand what a diffuser is functional for?

And agreed, adding 8lbs for function to, even if it only cuts consistent times down 1/2 a second as a functional piece, whether it was made for the car or not, it functions as designed and fits.

I don't own a Type R, or an S2000, but sure as hell if one was made for my civic, I'd rock one, especially now that I don't drive my car everyday.
