Last week I had a check engine light and I reset the ecu and it went away. I have been noticing this for a while now but when I am driving say 80mph, my car feels like its going 60mph. And today I just floored it, took it to about 110mph and it felt like I was going 80mph. I know something is not right. I changed the oil and same problem. My mods are JDm header, skunk2 cam gears(untuned), Aem Cai, Apexi N1 exhaust...what could cause this problem of laggness. My car has about 59,000 miles, should I get a valve adjustment, will it fix the problem....NEED HELP fast
Valve adjustment has nothing to do with the speedometer. How are you sure you are going slower? Test your speed on the road? with a friend?
What's your CEL?

the engine sounds normal...just the powerloss.....****...u think I need to get the cam gears tuned, because Im in the process of getting a p28 chipped ecu
o.k.. is antyhing wrong with tachometer? if not.. then go by gearing..
5th gear should read 4300rpm at 80mph.. thats more than speed limit
4th gear should read 4200rpm at 60mph.. so drive in 4th gear at 4200rpm and see if it feels like 60mph..
get valve adjustment done at least every 15K miles - and its completely unrelated to speedometer.

o.k. so your car is just pulling slow.. nothing is wrong with speedometer if it matches rpm..

You say it feels slow yet the speedo still goes fast. I say you are used to your car.
The cam gears do not to be adjusted. Your setup should be running fine.
