Default a really quick ?

sup guys. just need help here. my cube mate is having her car serviced and the dealer said that her rotors are delaminating. what is delaminating?

delaminating... that's when laminations come apart. Laminations being several thin things bonded together to make up a thicker, stronger item... I've never heard of rotors delaminating though... Hmmm....

i personally have never heard of this term either.. what did they want to do to correct this problem?

what make/model car? or does your cube mate drive an R?

I never heard of the term before in relation to rotors. I told her they might be

The only rotor I can think of that could be delaminating is the distributor rotor. Otherwise brake rotors could be rusted up to a point where they are "flaking". They probably wanted to use a fancy word to impress a nice lady

funny thing is when my cube mate asked what delaminating is, they did not know. they said they'll get back to her on that.

hmm.. sounds like they're screwing her to me.. depending on what they say when they "get back to her", she might want to take someone with her who knows, to have a see for themselves..
