I only have an icebox so the AF has never been altered. VTEC no longer seems to kick in in first gear, it seems to run in every other gear but I dun feel/hear it in first. But as far as I know it shouldn't be gear specific, anybody got a and answer to this prob?

 

What makes you think VTEC isn't activating?

 

I'm not hearing or feeling it.. at all.. I sat in my car driving around for liek 30 min not even a faint change in tone... or power push and I know it used to do it.

 

hmm seems it was a quart low.. i jsut did an oil change the other day too... hmm it was full then..

 

You might not notice VTEC engagement hence you were 'used' to the sound. Now you only hear the extra breathing from the intake. Right? Notice the power rather then the sound.

You are letting the engine warm up for at least 10 minutes before you hit VTEC right?

Change oil. Reset ECU.

Getting a CEL?

 

I was goinb by power and sound.. no CEL... after adding oil it seems to be better.

 

If starving for oil VTEC will not engage. Most cases.
