cracking?

if you hear the vtec engaging then its engaging. i dont think low oil could contribute to the vtec sound unless the oil was so low that the oil pressure was low and the ecu wouldnt let the vtec engage at all..

did it get quieter after you put your intake on? engines get considerably louder when an aftermarket intake is put on, maybe its drowning out the vtec sound?

uhh... if anything the intake would make it louder... you can hear the valvetrain alot easier with a cone filter on the end rather than the factory air box.

your vtec engagement will be low if u don hav eenough oil. it happen to me. when my oil is low you wont hear vtec kick in at all. but wen i pour that in you can hear a big difference.

yeah if you dont have enough oil pressure then your vtec will not engage. Have you changed anything on your ecu at all?
