OMG!!! I can't belive the slack...throttle cable slack that is....
Am I the only one who had to turn the throttle cable tension adjuster bolt all the way to the end of the thread to take up all the slack???!!!
DAYEM, the throttle is nice and tight now with good response.... I think I just added 20 kph to my top end!!! :D :D

I did the same, the slack wasn't too bad. It should make no difference how much the slack is as long as long as the throttle opens all the way at the lowest pedal position. This was my case, even before I adjusted it. If you tighten it up, it improves response, but acceleration would be the same. However, I did find that the car jerks a lot more. The throttle position, the TPS sensor and the ECU are all probably caliberated carefully for response, feel and smoothness. The ITR being more towards the first few categories, I'd think.
If you look at the service manual, there is a certain amount of slack that is acceptable. A few cm's of deflection I believe, I have to look it up to be sure.

I dont think its a good idea to have the nut all the way to the side. I tried this and it made my idle crazy! Like around 1500-1700. Turn it back a few mm's.

All you guys overtightening your throttle cable, and i know you are without even asking.
It will constantly keep getting stretched because if it already opens all the way
when you push the pedal down, you will be putting undue stress on the cable.
And not too many people think about their foot and easing the pedal to the floor
when they are racing.
