that more seems for a b16.

b18c5 should be in the 210 - 235.

Really hard to tell by compression tests, fairly in accurate from my experience. Depends on how many cranks you let it go. Even across the board is a very good thing, so I would say you're good to go?

blue smoke is fuel. maybe valves are loose or the piston rings are going bad. how many miles on it?

135 in minimum for b18c5 engine....

I just did a compression test on mine and got 240 on all 4.

Make sure your doing the test right because it can throw off your readings. Unplug the fuel--i just disconnected the injectors and also you have to take out all 4 plugs, dont do one at a time and then put it back.

Compression test can only tell us so much, do a leak down test for accurate answers to your problems.

I know that you didn't mean to say fuel.

compression test numbers aren't worth counting on as it can vary from gauge to gauge, exactly the same as counting on dyno numbers

it's an analogy further pointing out the effectiveness of relying on a comp test to prove motor healthiness.

Wait... so you let the oil level get so low the light comes on?

Sounds like you at the very least need to check your oil more often... that's a big no no... lack of lubrication to the head is bad juju...

If the oil light is coming on, that's lack of oil pressure (Honda's idiot light) If your letting the oil level get low, this will happen.

sounds like its in need of a rebuild, with the lack of oil and rather low compression numbers... how often is it consuming oil?

In order to include compression numbers in determining the health of the engine, you need to do a leak down test as well to check the state of your rings/lands etc... That will also determine why you are burning oil as well, which is causing your blue smoke concern.

lets say i did a leak down and my numbers were awesome ( 2-3% in all 4). Yet Im losing/burning alot of oil.
would i first look to valve seals? i assume that because the valves are closed the leakdown is an inaccurate way to test them?

i alson notice a strong ol smell whenevr i come to stop (which would be negative manifold preassure right)
My PCV system may be shot. i pinched the line and couldnt hear the ball click but my motor is loud and im not sure exactly what im listening for?

the leak down is great, but with a cap full of oil and a compression tester i can tell you if its your rings or your valves....

do your compressoin check again and this time make sure you crank it over 8 times per cylinder and if they are still low add a half a cap full of oil to each cylinder, if the numbers skyrocket into the high 200s then its your rings

valve seals can only be diagnosed with a leakdown tester and if you replace on cylinders i would replace all of them at the same time to be safe
