My apologies to everyone
Hey guys,
since it's the holiday season I just wanted to take this opportunity to apologize for acting like such a jackass. I think not having my car has shortened my fuse and cause me to say things I probably shouldn't say. So to anyone I've offended, merry Christmas. I'll be a much happier little animal once I get my car back.

Me too. I've been a bit bitchy here as well lately. I don't know what my problem is. Maybe it's because I'm broke. Maybe I need to find a new gf?? Maybe I need to sell both my hybrid and ITR and buy a more practical car...

Good point Ross.
You mean the TWO tickets I've gotten in the last month.
1) Speeding (20 MPH over), no front plate, no current proof of insurance.
I took the stupid class and got the speeding ticket taken care of ($50 + 4 hour class). Then I showed my current proof of insurance to take care of that. Then I had to pay $73 for the no front plate.
2) Negligent driving
My court date is set for Jan 23rd. Wish me luck.
Oh...and the NE winter is here as of two days ago. The snow/ice/sleet is here. My R is safely in hibernation in my garage while my hybrid handles the winter duties on my shitty 13" steelies. I'm starting to think more and more that I need 1 practical car for all situations vs having my two cars. In some ways a WRX would be good for me. It has the AWD and it's ugly as fvck...maybe I wouldn't have to worry about it getting stolen/vandalized as I do have to worry about my ITR. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on the EVO though.

Re: My apologies to everyone (Yellow Dragon)
think about this though - one car cannot satisfy all of your needs. it just can't. You like to autox and do track events, and a practical car is going to get its butt kicked. Say a WRX - you'll eventually need new tires, want to upgrade the suspension, boost, etc. then, you'll want a daily that you dont have to mod. Just stick with what you got.

Re: My apologies to everyone (Ross)
Thanks for helping me get back on track Ross.
I think this cold weather (snow/ice/sleet) has frozen the intelligence I once had.
Honestly you do have a point though. I could never get a WRX where I want it to be vs the ITR on the roadcourse/AutoX. I don't care what anyone says. I could get the WRX faster than the ITR, but it will never be the balanced handling machine the ITR is.
The WRX IS much more practical though. I could feel quite confident about driving it in a blizzard and being reliable as a 4wd truck. Then on the other hand the WRX wouldn't be as *high maintenance* as the ITR. I could drive it to the mall/movie theaters, etc and wouldn't have to worry about it quite as much. It's not like they get stolen for their engines you know.

My advice - keep the R, ditch the hybrid since I know you're not much of a drag racer. Then get a black WRX wagon, de-badge it, and sleep easy.

Don't sweat it, I think we all come across the wrong way from time to time.
Everyone have a great holiday, I hope Santa is good to us all.

think about this though - one car cannot satisfy all of your needs. it just can't. You like to autox and do track events, and a practical car is going to get its butt kicked.
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Here are my needs:
- Practical enough to drive every day. This means it must be reliable and relatively economical to operate.
- Occasional need to carry more than two people or a large item.
- Decent all-weather capabilities.
- Performs decently on the track. (Doesn't have to be the fastest car out there, but shouldn't be so slow that it holds up traffic in the instructor run group.) AND can't be unreliable for track use - can't be laid up by mechanical problems so it's unavailable as a daily driver.
Obviously, you can get multiple cars for multiple purposes. But if you want to have only one car, I've decided that the ITR is one of the few cars that can meet all these needs. Most folks here are aware of most of this. The only capability that folks might not be aware of is the all-weather part. In the winter, if you slap a set of winter tires on the ITR, it kicks butt. In fact, I think it does as well with winter tires in snow as many SUV's with all-season tires, since it's got FWD (much better than RWD) and it doesn't weigh nearly as much (helps with maintaining traction and minimizing stopping distances).
The WRX can meet all these needs too, but I think the ITR has a better combination of characteristics overall. The rex might be superior on the all-weather part, in acceleration, and in cargo/passenger capacity, but (from what I've heard from owners) it can't come anywhere close to the ITR for braking, handling, or reliability.

She used to host a dating show in Australia called "Love Rules".
I had to do some research on google and I remember her name is GABRIELLE RICHENS.

Re: My apologies to everyone (ckkl)
Heh that girl's left boob is bigger than her right one. Thanks for the link though.
Wes - I agree for the most part, the R is one of the best all-around cars money can buy, along with the M3, WRX, etc. But, the more you drive it on the track, the more you want to go crazy with it...witness our very own GK who daily drove his R up until a short while ago. before long, it had a roll cage in it. Cages arent exactly practical.
Jason - I guess you haven't noticed that I've been talking a little too much lately. I was just apologizing cause I know it drove a few people nuts.
