It's a reminder that goes off after enough miles where you should be getting an oil change.
If you already got an oil change and don't need it now, reset it using the button underneath the dash, below where the ignition key is.

Do what I did, take out the bulb.
That way you'll *never* have to reset it.
It's just a service reminder though.

If it flashes for a few seconds on startup, it should just be a reminder. However, if it stays on, you should look into what the problem is.

Change the oil, rotate the tires if you haven't already, and when the car is on, hold the button down until the light goes off. If you just push it for a second it won't stop flashing at startup. Read your owner'm manual, it shows a picture of where the button is and what it pertains to.
