Installing VTEC valve springs
I know how to do the actual installtion part...but I have a question.
I ordered Integra Type R outer springs and Portflow inners. I received the Portflow ones just now and from the looks of it, they are all teh same...so Im assuming it doesnt matter which goes on the intake and the exhaust?
How about the ITR outer springs? Is there a intake and exhaust spring...or are they all the same?
And finally, do I need to check the installed height? Mike K said he never checks it and has had no problems. How would I go about checking if I do want to do this step?

When using Portflow inner springs and ITR outer springs, installed height is right on. I've never seen any problems with it.
Install all springs with the yellow paint facing up.. and the Portflows in with the more coils facing down.

Yeah! I would be worried when I had installed them upsidedown. The coils gets slightly together on one side of the spring. Look carefuly.
I had luck when we did the valve springs swap. We figured after the 1st spring out, that there is a different in the coils. Lucky we saw this!
I don´t know if it does matter when you put the spring 180 degrees wrong in. But for some reason they made the coils so. Damn! you must lift the head again!

Re: Installing VTEC valve springs (BowSeR)
Alright...just got off the phone with Portflow.
They said their inner valve springs are non-progressive...so there is no top or bottom to them
Also for the ITR outers, he said to use all yellows with the paint up liek Mike said...and sicne they are all yellows, there is no differance between the intake and exhaust springs.
