Help me chose a revlimit
Im getting a P28 ECU rechiiped for the B20VTEC, but I have no idea what I should set the revlimiter to.
I was thinking 9,000 but that maybe to high and not needed..unless it makes peak power at 8500 or something.
What would you guys recommend?

Re: Help me chose a revlimit (HX_Guy)
if ur using ITR cams..i believe they only make power to like 82000rpm..so there would be no point to go over stock revlimit which is 8400rpm
if ur using spoon cams..i was told by alan at AJR they make power upto 9000rpm..thats why im moving my revlimit to 9200rpm.

Re: Help me chose a revlimit (Vegeta)
the stock ITR valvetrain is okay until about 9000rpm. I think if his revlimiter stays at 8400rpm, he should have no need to change the valvetrain.

You trust the big-block to 9000? I know T.O.O does, and I'm sure you've spoken with Larry if you've got some ENDYN stuff, so ask him. He knows his **** better than anyone else knows his ****.
I would think around 8400 would be the MAX I'd go safely. I keep hearing about cams making good power up to 9000RPMs, but I have yet to SEE it yet. Someone prove me wrong by posting some dyno plots of a Honda motor making peak power around 9000RPMs and then I'll shut up about it.

In your face biatch!
Now..I know it really stops at 8800-8900...but that is because he hit his revlimiter. You can easily see the car was still making STRONG power...hell its a straight line from 8000-9000! And a peak torque at 7800! Thast nuts!

Re: Help me chose a revlimit (HX_Guy)
what cams are those on the dyno? i make 160 ft lbs at 5200. anyway my rev limit on stock ITR top end is set at 9k. ive taken it to 9, well, ive smacked int oteh limiter at the track and the motor is strong. i just forgot to shift. no need going past 8500 on the stock tach tho because it doesnt make any more power. in fact, i should shift early just so that im in my max torque range. anyway i wouldnt mind making more top end power as well so cams?

Re: sheeeeyeiiiiiissit (yeah LS)
yea LS: Am I guessing right when I guess Hondata? And are you using stock ITR cams?
BlackR: That guy's setup is:
b20/vtec, Endyn RW high compression pistons, 3 layer b20 gasket, endyn ported head, 310 injectors, 255 lb/hr high psi walbro fuel pump, eagle rods, 9 lb flywheel, msd 6al, jdm dc header, endyn ported ITR intake manifold, jg 64mm tb, homemade 3" cai and of course, jun3 cams, chipped P28 with a stock jdm b16a program w/ raised rev limit.

Re: sheeeeyeiiiiiissit (HX_Guy)
honestly that motor sounds likea lot of work. my build was very easy to make the power that i got.
310 petro squirters
stock itr petro pump
stock intake mani, stock cams, stock head, stock TB
weisco pistons
eagle rods
p28 ecu with chip, vafc hell no hondata...is that supposed to be good?
9 lb flywheel
so looks the same to me but i spend less money hahah

Re: sheeeeyeiiiiiissit (HX_Guy)
i thought u were talking about ITR cams, not JUN III's.
hell ya, if ur gonna use JUN III's, they make power well past 9000rpm. but stock cams lose their breath after 8200rpm
