Help...
I have a 2001 ITR practically stock with a short shifter and a AEM CAI. The car drives fine and pulls very hard. The problem is, whenever it snows or rains very hard, the shifter seems to get real stiff and sometimes I need to turn off the car and restart it and then its fine again. I never run through puddles or anything and from what I've read about hydrolocking, people drive through large puddles for that to happen. Someone once told me the shift linkages might have something wrong with them. Can someone please help me identify the problem so that I get it checked out?
I was also wondering if anyone knows of an Acura dealership around Chicago that treats ITR owners well so that I can take my car over for a check up.
All help would be highly appreciated...
Thank you~

You might get better "Help" if you had a more descriptive title to this post.
As for the shifter being an issue, I'd just switch back to the stock one and see if there is a difference or your issue resolved.
Good luck.

nothing is wrong with the stock shifter... The dealership had the short shifter on it when I bought it so I never changed it back... I have the stock one, do you recommend me putting it back on? I believe the one on there right now is the DC one... I've heard that the DC one doesn't give smooth shifting like the stock one does... Do you think the shifter is the problem? One of my friends told me that the short shifter doesn't seem to fit correctly because sometimes when its idling, it sounds like the shifter is rattling against the exhaust...

Uhh, yeah.
I didn't think what I posted before was hard to understand:

Nope, I pretty much posted what I meant, and meant what I posted. At least that's what I'd try, I mean besides just making sure it isn't banging around under against anything. It might be that you are just hitting one of the heat shields which was a problem I did have. Just bent the shield out of the way and voila.

Dunno, I don't have personal experience with that one, but a friend of mine had an issue with his B&M shifter (which is a decent short shifter and a bit better than the DC from what I know) with rattle and a non direct feel when shifting. We compared my stock shifter to his B&M and he switched back to stock to find out I believe if I remember correctly that the B&M bushings were worn out.

I guess I'm a confusing sort? Uhhh I'd switch back to stock since you still have it and see if your problem is resolved (sounding like a broken record now.) Won't cost you anything so might as well give it a shot.

Sounds familiar, again not from personal experience but, I have heard of this and of the DC piece in particular.
Try it and see what happens.
Good luck.
