this may all sound pretty ghetto, but it's worth a shot:
i just picked up an oldschool RS*R header (hey...it was free), and i was thinking about putting it on my car. i know that i'll run into two problems: the first being no bung for an O2 sensor, and the second being the fact that the header itself is too short.
welding the bung in will take me like 10 minutes so that's not a big deal.
my biggest concern is that of the cat -- can i simply run a GSR cat? is it any more restrictive than the ITR? if so, would it be feasible to hollow out the GSR cat and just not run the secondary O2 sensor?
any input would be appreciated! thanks!

You will still have to use some kind of adapter to lengthen the B-pipe, as the GS-R converter won't make up the difference.
I'm not 100% sure, but IIRC, the GS-R and ITR converters are pretty much the same internally, so increased restriction shouldn't be a problem.
Not sure what to do about the O2 sensor. I think maybe I'd try to make an adapter for the length difference, weld an O2 bung on it, place it between the header and the cat, and use your stock converter since you've already got it.
