first thing to do to a ITR
My friend has an 01 ITR as soon as he bought it he put an n1 exhaust on it and 18' ace of spade wheels (of which i have talked him into selling i think he is getting spoon lookalikes).
Anyways i want him to do stuff to it and i have no idea what to tell him to do to it. Im not framilar with dohc's expecially the c5's so what should i tell him to do?
obv an intake is high up on the list. im guessing a aem CAI. but other than that i dont know what to tell him. i have heard alot of guy's do underdrive pully's 4to1 headder camgears exc... and as far as the head im not shure but are cam's a good upgrade?
i dont think he wants it to be an all out dragracer but i am autocrossing / roadraceing my car and i want him to hang with me. what should i tell him to get..
as for suspension i think he is going with H&R strut/coilover combo is the itr suspension sufficent as far as everything else goes? he also isnt going to any extream's on the susp. either
thanks guys sorry i dont know more about the b18c5/ITR.

ditch the 18's if he wants preformance, as far as intakes, comptech, Aem, J's. Headers: basically anything with a 2.5' colector.....dc jdm, the jdm itr, ect. I think he should learn to drive his car before he does stuff like cams, and suspension upgrades.

It is his car, let him do what he wants.
If he wants to pimp...18's do the job.
If he wants performance, ditch the 18's.

4gsicivichatch,
Its hard to know what he should do to be as fast as you without knowing how fast you are. What do you run in the 1/4 mile?
As for suspension, I would think just a set of R Compound tires could be enough to get him over 1G of latteral acceleration.

STOCK IS VERY GOOD!!! There is really no need to upgrade much of anything if he is just starting out.
That said, drag this friend to as many autocrosses as you can stock class and then drag him to a few hpde's.
Make the car back as close to stock as possible IE stock wheels and such. Have him learn to drive the car as STOCK as possible.
One good upgrade is some good sticky tires that he can utilize for Both Autocross and Track.
Ultimately he can do whatever he likes but, if he can't drive it well, then he is just wasting money and won't really have any good reference points from which to start.
I strongly urge him to keep the stock suspension, it's simply that good.
Good luck,
A.
PS wonder if I stressed Stock enough?

The best thing he can do is spend $300 to sign up for the ITR Expo 3. Too bad it's so far away from you.
Excellent advice.
