Error code 1259 causing CEL

Error code 1259 causing CEL
I'm new to tuning Acuras but it seems like the V-AFC allows you to go into VTEC at any temperature or condition. Is this the truth? Is there any way to disable the V-AFC so that it only comes on when the conditions are correct ALA stock? I only use it as a display, and would like to keep it. Thanks

That's all I currently use it for, the car is 100% stock right now. If I plan on going I/H/E then I would use it to help tune the car, but I dont see a reason for pulling it and then putting it back in when I mod it
