please HELP!!! CEL is on
my CEL came on and i took my car up 2 auto zone. they hooked my car up and it said that my A/F ratio is off and my car dosent feel like it is running very effiecient. i have had my VAFC hooked up for about a year and i never use it because i dont want 2 f up my engine. So i was wonderin if any1 knew how to work a VAFC so that i could get my car to run smoother and more efficient.
i drive a 99 honda civic si B16 with mods= intake, exhaust, headers, radiator, MSD ig box, cap, ex coil, plugs and wires, cat, and VAFC

Re: please HELP!!! CEL is on (ek forever guy)
the code is P1259 which means a VTEC malfunction. but there are 2 more things listed below the code and they are -manfacurer control and -fuel air metering.
i jus installed a VTEC solenoid with switch a week ago when the light came on, so thats not the problem anymore. i can tell by driving my car that that its not effcient so is there any slight changes i can make on my VAFC to help things be tuned a little better. im going to get a EMS soon and was wonderin if i could tune with my VAFC until i get the EMS.

Re: please HELP!!! CEL is on (FOOLS_Si)
It wouldn't hurt to take it to a mechanic.
I'm sure it's a simple problem.
Are you sure the solenoid is getting oil?
Is vtec engaging?
Are your breather hoses plugged in?
