Dyno Proven Again...Kenji's P28 is the Shhhhhh
For my dayoff, I decided to make an hour and a half trip to Rosen Autosport in Richmond VA and waste more money on the dyno.
Run.002 - Stock ECU
Run.004 - Kenji's P28 Untuned
Run.014 - Kenji's P28 VTEC and fuel tuned

- Mods are Comptech Icebox, Spoon Header, P28 ECU, and VAFC. Yes I know, my numbers seem low but I'm not too worried. My car has put out better numbers on the same model dyno in different shops. In other words, I've come to an understanding that I can only compare the plots that came out from the same session.
here's mine stock everything except aem cai 172.9/120.9

I'll be dynoing Kenji's ECU tomorrow. Should be interesting to see how it turns out since we have similar bolt-on mods.
p.s. you lost mad horsepower, 'cuz you don't have Twinloop no more.

NVious R, current special, $410 (shipped I think, not sure though) for both a conversion harness and a kenji chipped P28. Email him at kenji211@tampabay.rr.com

It still kinda sucks that my numbers are so low. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied until I find the perfect combination of parts. I'm hopeless...lol

Is the ECU socketed or soldered with reprogrammed chip?
I saw an honda ECU once that was socketed just like the old 486 PC's...you can change chips easily.

From my experience, Rosen's dyno reads on the low side.
John, please...you've dyno'd your car at Rosen and at another Dynojet, with no changes to your car, and within a short time frame?
That's why you think the Rosen dyno's a bit low?
I'm interested because the issue came up with some dyno results that someone obtained recently.

I was going by others experiences. I know Bryan experienced much lower nnumbers there compared to another dyno he had been at (not sure what the other one was), along with brian*black99si. I think Bryans R, with JDM 4-1, test pipe, comptech filter, and spoon axleback put down something like 150 there? The next day he was at a track session and pulling HARD on damn near every other R there on the straights?
Brians 99 Si with jdm 4-1, aem, exhaust, and ECU put down something like 130?
Something weird about the dyno, b/c i've known others to get perfectly reasonable numbers there. My old R with JDM 4-1, carsound cat, and AEM put down 171.x. Not sure what's throwing the numbers off, but those are just some things that i have observed.

Re: Dyno Proven Again...Kenji's P28 is the Shhhhhh (CPR)
Has anyone noticed that with the kenji ecu, when you run down to almost no gas, you go to refill at the gas station, fill the tank completely, it's hard to idle the first couple minutes? I had that problem on 2 different Kenji ECU equipped cars and was wondering if it was just a fluke?

I'd like to hear if this is a problem others are having.
Can you tell I'm thinking of this chip?

One other thing I've noticed as well, is that when the car isn't warm it idles awkward. I run a Spoon Thermostat, and it usually keeps the car much cooler during a-typical highway driving and what-not. (Between the 1st and 2nd dash on the temp gauge) -- It will have a very weird idle.
Short answer -- Yes, I have the same problem.
EDIT: Ok, sounded like I idle on the highway. I meant, driving then when I come to a stop, it will idle weird until the temp rises.
