Seriously...

Z man told me that the stock breathing capacity of the Arrr is not ample for constant high RPM thrashing.... the black gold will find a way out somewhere. In your case the dip stick.

? What do you mean?

"stock breathing capacity" is not "ample?"

what can we do to remedy this problem? Aside from the short-term fixes discussed here?

my car has not issues with breathing... the oil splashes up to the front park of the block under heavy braking and somehow leaks out of the dipstick t00b.

Once enough oil has leaked.. the t00b becomes loose. At least that is what I think.

I will try to buy a new tube or use some JB weld and seal the leak and hope the t00b stays put.

I applied the "short-term" fix about 5 months ago...no problems yet

I too have had this problem happen. When the motor is hot, and I got to check the oil, the dipstick and the guider comes out! I will have to swing by Honda to get this fixed, not unless any of you people know how I could fix it. Let me know! Peace.

I just applied some Honda-Bond to the dipstick t00b and it is drying... Report tomorrow after a test drive.

to my knowledge, the tube is just pressure/friction fit. if it's leaking, try using a piece of wood on the top of the tube and pound it back in with a hammer. hth

Report tomorrow after a test drive.
Applied H-B at ~5:30pm yesterday evening to the t00b and inserted it back into the block (cleaned both first). I used an open-end wrench and a hammer to tap the t00b down to make sure it was seated. I straightened the t00b and then let the t00b sit overnight (~12 hr total) without starting the motor or moving the t00b.
I checked it this morning (~6:15am) and it did not move.
I drove to work and checked it after I parked. It still did not move...

I will wait till after a 'track event' before I say that the repair is a successful one.

If the oil leak has stopped and the t00b does not move... I will be a happy man.

My dipstick tube was loose as well. I just took it to the dealer and had them replace it. Now it isn't loose anymore. I'd say to just take it to the dealer and let them fix it.

Good idea Will, I guess the JB Weld idea was a little drastic ...hehe
Drastic? How so?

H-B is a little easier to remove.

I'd say to just take it to the dealer and let them fix it.
Dealer + my car = only if I have to.

A new t00b was only ~$10... but for $12 I could get a t00b of H-B and fix the issue myself and not have to let the dealer touch my car.

Not trying to pick, but why would you want it removed? Glad you fixed it, and hopefully it will do well on track

This happened to my car too.

Had the dealer replace the whole oil dipstick cylinder and assembly under warranty.
same here !
Dammit! I was just playing around under the hood and realized mine is loose too! Is this covered under warranty or what?

Count me in on the list of those with this loose tube issue..

Thanks to Yoshi's reference page and Willard's doggade persistance, I picked up some Honda Bond. Cleaned up everything and reattached the tube.

I'll check it tomorrow.

Hopefully all should be good,

I noticed a slight leak at about 25,000 miles. It now has 30,000 miles and the tube just spun freely.

Thanks guys.

Funny how when people ask questions without searching and reading a bit first they get slammed,

Then when other people actually Do some research, other members are bewildered at where and why old threads emerge.

NOTHING against you BPR, I've just seen your same comment a few times before in the last few weeks from other older members.

I personally would rather the New one's do the Search and Find the Information. That's what makes this board so great and unique.
